About us

Whale Watcher’s Luxury Self-Catering Apartments opened in 2000 at its first mountainside location in Fish Hoek Bay. Our vision was to provide private luxury self-catering accommodation to discerning guests from South Africa and abroad in the charming Southern Peninsula area of Cape Town.

Since 2000 Whale Watcher’s has grown to include more than 30 apartments in 4 separate locations along the scenic False Bay coastline.

Mark Robinson

A successful entrepreneur in the marketing communications field, Mark established Whale Watcher’s Luxury Self-Catering Apartments in 1999 to subside his home loan repayments.  Today Mark runs a marketing communications agency and attends to customer service and marketing at Whale Watchers.  When not pursuing business interests, you’re likely to find Mark enjoying family life, hiking in the mountains around False Bay, cycling, spinning at Virgin Active – or body surfing at Fish Hoek beach.

Belinda Robinson

A busy mother, wife and the banker in the business, Belinda is the accounting officer and ensures that everything affecting your stay at Whale Watchers is ‘eksie perfeksie’ (an Afrikaans expression meaning, excellently perfect). Belinda thrives on making your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.  When she finds time between the demands of motherhood and an expanding business, Belinda enjoys cooking, beach walks and entertaining on family weekends.
